  I love The Red Mile and in turn, Lexington, KY. The time spent there is always a highlight, largely because of the local knowledge I have gained over the years. So...I  have put together a few suggestions based on my personal experience and tastes, in the hope that those coming to Lexington during The Red Mile's fall Grand Circuit meet might enjoy all that this charming city has to offer.

Bolt The Duer In 1:48.2 In $250,000 KYSS Final

 The 2012 Kentucky Sire Stakes (KYSS) season wrapped up Sunday night (Sept. 9) at The Red Mile with eight $250,000 finals for 2 and 3 year olds of both gaits featured on the card. Two sophomores were able to defend their championships, including the 3-year-old filly trotter Northern Miss Hall and the 3-year-old colt pacer Bolt The Duer.

Kentucky Sires Stakes Action Kicks off Sunday Night

 The opening leg of the Kentucky Sires Stakes for 2-year old trotters and pacers will highlight the Sunday night Red Mile program.  There will be a total of 10 stakes divisions throughout the 14 race program.  Seven divisions will be for the freshman trotters, with a large amount from the first crop of superstar Deweycheatumnhowe making their debut over the red clay.

Pick 4 Carryover Highlights Thursday Night Red Mile Card

The 139th season of live racing kicked off at Lexington’s Red Mile with a bang on Sunday, August 5th. A good crowd enjoyed great weather and a parade of longshots on the opening night program which has made for a $2,663 Pick 4 carryover into the first Thursday night program. As part of the United States Trotting Association’s Strategic Wagering Program, The Red Mile has announced that the Thursday night Pick 4 (Races 6-9) will offer a $10,000 Guaranteed Pool.
