The Canadian Sportsman was founded in 1870 and is Canada's oldest magazine of any kind. Published mid-monthly with Summer Stakes Bonus Issues, The Sportsman is a trade magazine for passionate harness racing participants and fans looking for unique and in-depth information. What was once more of a newspaper has become a 9.5x13" over-sized, full colour, features magazine dominated by superior photography and design. Since 1989, The Canadian Sportsman has been located in the small southwestern Ontario hamlet of Straffordville. Each edition is produced and printed from this location.

We are proud of our body of writers who cover and provide the most comprehensive coverage of feature stories in the industry. Between them they have won 15 writing awards while frequently being lauded for their journalistic excellence. Our main feature photographers Claus Andersen and Dave Landry are amongst the most talented artists in our sport. Combined, this duo have achieved seven photography awards in their careers and their work has appeared in countless magazines and newspapers world-wide.
