Red Mile Race Reviews

Thursday, September 26th

Track Handicapper – Gabe Prewitt

Race 1                     Selections                                9-2-5

1

Life Long Hanover

No question this guy has a lot of early speed, but stamina may be the main concern against the top ones in here.  I’ll pass.

2

GJ Photo Victory

Lightly raced 5yo appears to have some talent but limited opportunities.  Put in a solid AM work at The Meadows, no question he can go with these if he is ready.  I’m willing to take a shot.

3

Abbeycrest

Was ‘ok’ in a couple of overnight events earlier this season locally, but I would think he would need a lot more still to contend for any of the major awards against this crew.

4

Cabo Blue

Remains winless on the season, and doesn’t appear to pack enough speed to hang with the top ones in here.  Not tonight.

5

Rock With It

Continues to improve with each local start, and lands in what appears to be a fairly manageable spot.  Any further improvement puts him squarely in the mix.

6

DW’s Perky Joe

Only missed a head in his ’13 debut last time in a Billings event at Delaware.   Should continue to improve in only his 2nd start back of the season.  Must respect.

7

Hay Look Out

Appears overmatched against these.  Pass.

8

Keystone Sadie

Filly has held her own against local overnight company, but is facing some seasoned rivals tonight in this spot.  Would need her absolute very best.

9

Magglio

Has hit the board in almost half of his LT starts, and has been knocking heads with some tough overnight rivals recently in PA.  Gets slammed with the outside, but looks to be the best in here right now.

Race 2                     Selections                                2-8-3

1

Southwind Alice

($23k HB yearling) Canadian invader hasn’t proven that she packs enough speed to hang with the top ones in here just yet.  I’ll watch closely for any improvement.

2

Scully Sas

Has held her own locally against some tough fillies, with the 2 winners from her last races showing back up tonight in stakes company.  Continues to improve with each start.  Must respect.  DM chose over #4.

3

Hot Springs

($120k HB yearling) Not sure what caused the ‘sick’ scratch last week, but I must mention she did have some pop on the end of that mile prior.  Anything similar to that effort would put her in the mix.

4

Sincerely Yours

Has rounded into form a bit since arriving locally, including a solid 2nd place finish behind a decent filly last time but keep in mind she did benefit from several breakers.  Would need her absolute very best.  DM opted to #2.

5

SJ’s Proposal

Arrives locally off consecutive breaks, hard to jump on board after seeing that.  I’ll watch one.

6

Spit for Spat

($10k HB yearling) Picked a bad time to make a break near the top of the lane here in Kindergarten action last time, and I’m just not convinced she is ready to go with the top ones in here just yet.

7

Fortunes of Fables

($60k HB yearling) Was off to a promising start to her career back earlier this summer, but the train has went off the tracks recently.  I’ll wait until we see some signs of improvement.

8

Bambino Supreme

($77k Lex yearling – highest BH sold at auction in ’12) Things couldn’t have gone any better here in her career debut until the last couple of strides before the wire where she made a break.  Was coasting home to an easy victory before that.  No question there is some talent here, price should be right as well.

9

Pink Marble

($27k Lex yearling) Doesn’t appear ready for these just yet.  Pass.

Race 3                     Selections                                8-4-6

1

Luxuriant Hanover

($60k HB yearling) Not sure she packs enough speed to hang with these just yet.  Pass.  D. Miller opted to #7 instead.

2

Well Maid

($50k Lex yearling) Finished up far behind #6 here last time.  Not tonight.

3

Ken Doll J

($45k HB yearling) Not sure what caused the break last time, but had shown some talent in mid-level stakes company prior.  Not an easy assignment tonight, will need her very best against these.

4

Fresh Look

I’m honestly not sure if she is ready to hang with the top ones in here in only her 2nd LT try, but I can tell you she couldn’t possibly have looked any better here against overnight company.  Must respect.  ML chose #6 instead.

5

Truth is Big

Indy invader has been solid against overnight rivals at Hoosier, but taking on what appears to be a much better crew here.  I’ll pass against these.

6

She’s Dangerous

($80k HB yearling – highest WI sold at auction in ’12) Sprinted past her rivals to win in her career debut, unleashing a 27 second final panel.  Should continue to improve here in her 2nd LT try.  ML opted here over #4.

7

Hello My Dream

($2k Lex yearling) Bargain yearling purchase has been racing well against overnight company in Chi-town, and I would expect her to be looking to set up a similar off the pace rally here.  Your call.  DM chose over #’s 1 & 9.

8

Nat a Virgin

Connections are obviously high on her ability, tossing her in the Champlain Stakes against top level company.  Has proven she packs major league speed, she fits with these.

9

Sectionline Aqua

OH invader gets slammed with the outside post against a tough bunch.  Can’t endorse her against these.  D. Miller opted to #7 instead.

Race 4                     Selections                                3-6-1-9                    50 Cent Superfecta Wagering

1

Absinthe

($47k Lex yearling) Solid start to her career against mid-level stakes company at Vernon, finishing a close 3rd last time on the off track.  Not an overly tough crew here, any further improvement puts her squarely in the mix.

2

Platinum T

($97k Lex yearling) Haven’t been overly impressed with her local efforts to this point, I’ll wait until we see some signs of improvement.

3

Graceful Kelly

($145k HB yearling – highest MY sold at auction in ’12) I’m pretty confident she was going to be 2nd here last week prior to the break, and I do think there is some talent here if she can put it all together.  I’ll take a shot.

4

Mystical Wishes

Decent Q’fer at Balmoral, but made breaks in both career tries prior.  I’ll watch one first.

5

Dynamite Honey

($80k HB yearling – highest EM filly sold at auction in ’12) Trotted evenly against a solid crew here last week, and has held her own against tough company prior.  Anything similar puts her in play.

6

Medallist

($8k Lex yearling) Has rounded the corner a bit since arriving locally, including an easy victory here against overnight company last time out.  Any further improvement makes her a major threat.  Callahan opted to #8.

7

Candy Stash

Barn typically has some success here, but this filly didn’t show a lot in the AM to this point.  I’ll watch one before hopping on board.

8

Love Talk

($30k HB yearling) Made breaks in both local tries, can’t jump on board after seeing that.  Pass for now.  Callahan opted here over #6.

9

Amazing Marie

I was impressed by her effort at Delaware on Juggette Day, and she appears to be heading in the right direction.  Not an overly tough group here, I’ll toss her on the ticket at what should be a big price.

Race 5                     Selections                                5-7-2-3                    50 Cent Superfecta Wagering

1

Anonyme Hanover

($47k HB yearling) Didn’t think she warmed up all that well here last week, but she raced great to make it two in a row.  Should sit close after landing on the pole.  Your call.

2

Struck By Lindy

($32k HB yearling) Held her own against some tough company thus far on the PASS circuit, picking up a nice 3rd place check in the $260k final.  Her best effort puts her squarely in the mix against these.

3

Grammas Girl

($35k Lex yearling) Has really turned the corner in her last few tries against top level stakes company, no question she fits with these.  Maybe.  Pierce opted here over #4.

4

Backorder

Had a nice career debut back at Tioga, but hasn’t really fired in her local tries for whatever reason.  Would need a big rebound to make any noise against these.  Pierce opted to #3 instead.

5

Heaven’s Door

($90k HB yearling) We haven’t seen her in almost 2 months prior to tonight, but the Q’fer was razor sharp a couple of weeks back adding hobbles.  Went an unbelievable mile in MA elim to make final.

6

Bikini So Teeny

($12k Lex yearling) Has gotten a bit better over the last couple of starts, but would have to pick things up even more to contend for the major awards in here.  Not tonight.

7

Moonlight in Miami

($100k HB yearling) Strolled home to her first career win in Kindergarten action here last week, in what was her first start in over 45 days.  Should continue to improve in only her 4th career start.

8

Thisgirl isonfire

($24k HB yearling) No match for Kindergarten fillies here last week, hard for me to jump on board after landing on the outside against this crew.

Race 6                     Selections                                3-8-2                       $10,000 Guaranteed Pick 4 Pool           See ticket at the end

1

Nasty Sweetness

($9k HB yearling) Soundly defeated by overnight company in PA recently, would have to pick things up a LOT more to hang with these.  Pass.  Pierce opted to #5 instead.

2

One Jazzy Lady

($8k Lex yearling) Held her own against tough company on the PASS circuit, and takes what should be a fairly significant plunge in class tonight in LC action.  Should find this more to her liking.  Tetrick opted to #3 instead.

3

It Was Fascination

Didn’t have much luck in $139k stake at Hoosier last time out, but some horses just don’t take to that track.  I’m willing to excuse that effort, had been solid prior on NYSS circuit.  Tetrick opted here over #’s 2, 7, & 10.

4

Temptation Hanover

($55k HB yearling) Maybe a notch or two below the top level fillies on the PASS circuit, but she has flashed some speed when she keeps her mind on business.  Both breaks have been when she tried to leave.

5

Vitameat avegamin

($15k Lex yearling) Has been ‘ok’ to this point, but not sure she is ready to go with the top ones in here just yet.  I’ll wait for a better spot.  Pierce opted here over #’s 1 & 9.

6

Rock Groupie

Chi-town invader has been on the shelf almost a month, and I’m not sure she is ready to hang with the top ones in here at this point.  I’ll watch closely.

7

Boxed Chocolates

Yet another Chi-town invader here that has missed some time, and I’m not convinced that she packs enough speed to hang with the top ones in here just yet.  Tetrick opted to #3 instead.

8

Bikinis on Top

Make no mistake, that is a BIG mile she went at Batavia last time in NYSS action, and the prior effort was sharp at Vernon as well.  Appears to be heading in the right direction.  Lots to like.

9

Surfside Sexy

Easy winner as a big fav last time at Pocono, but would have to pick things up quite a bit to go with the top ones in here.  Not yet.  Pierce opted to #5 instead.

10

Secluded Beach

($50k HB yearling) Had absolutely no shot after sitting last off a half in 59 seconds in $138k stake last time, and was roughed up in the local try prior.  Won’t be easy from way out here, will need her absolute very best.

Race 7                     Selections                                8-9-4-5                    50 Cent Superfecta Wagering

1

Kween Mightus

Cashed some big checks recently in Indy Sires, and should be sitting close after landing on the pole.  Would still need to pick things up a bit to contend for the major awards in here though.

2

Dancing Dynamite

($17k HB yearling) Hasn’t been on top of her game over the last few starts, would take a complete turnaround to hang with the top ones in here right now.

3

Sister Star

Not sure she is ready to hang with the top ones in here just yet.  Pass.

4

Dress for Success

Filly might fly a bit under the radar here, but she has really picked things up recently.  Came first up and nearly pulled off the big upset in $46k stake on Jugette Day.  I’ll toss her on the ticket.  Callahan opted to #10 instead.

5

Pray With Me

($10k Lex yearling) Held her own against stakes company to begin her career, yet to miss the board in 5 tries.  No question she will be blasting out early, should be in line for a nice up close journey.

6

Turbocharged Roxie

OH bred filly held her own against ITG, who ended up being the OHSS champ.  Probably her toughest task to date here, would need her very best to hang with these.  Your call.  Campbell opted to #8 instead.

7

Lady Windsor

MI invader has absolutely crushed her rivals there, winning 6 of 7 LT starts.  No question she is facing a tougher crew here, but she certainly hasn’t done anything wrong to this point.

8

Fashion Huntress

Looked like a million dollars on the track last week before blazing through some quick fractions en route to a 3rd place finish.  She is the one to beat in my opinion, hoping Campbell can ration out the speed.

9

Vanity Matters

($47k HB yearling) Nailed #8 right on the wire for 2nd last week after following her throughout the mile.  Not sure things will work out that perfectly here, but her best effort puts her in the mix once again.

10

Keepsake Hanover

($70k HB yearling) Followed #’s 8 & 9 in that last mile, only to tire a bit down the lane.  Would have to pick things up quite a bit to contend for the major awards, won’t be easy from way out here.  CC chose over #4.

Race 8                     Selections                                4-2-6-1                    50 Cent Superfecta Wagering

1

Herroyal Highness

($60k Lex yearling) Absolutely blew right past the big fav with a dominant first over move on the off track last time at Balmoral.  She continues to improve with each and every start.  Lands in a tough group here though.

2

Chivaree Hanover

($12k Lex yearling) Easy win last time at Vernon in stakes company, and I must admit I was very impressed with the start prior holding on for 2nd after a tough first over trip.  Peaking at the right time.

3

Mistresswith muscle

($70k HB yearling) I’ve actually been a big fan of hers to this point, but not sure she is ready to hang with this crew just yet.  I’ll pass for now.

4

Lifetime Pursuit

($60k Lex yearling) Not sure what caused her to throw in the dull effort last time in $260k PA Final, but she had been a model of consistency prior.  I’m willing to jump back on board.

5

Deweyscheatin girl

($20k HB yearling) Doesn’t appear to pack enough speed to hang with the top ones in here just yet.  Pass.

6

Cee Bee Yes

($45k HB yearling) Maybe not as sharp here last week as she was in her first local Kindergarten try, but still a solid effort nonetheless.  Has hit the board in 6 of 7 to begin her career.  Must respect.

7

Rockenon Broadway

($22k Lex yearling) Was hanging right with #8 prior to making the break here last week, and was a sharp winner the week prior.  May be worth an extra look at what should be solid value.

8

Goddess

($110k HB yearling) Essentially a training mile here last week, as she simply blew her rivals away en route to an easy victory.  Likely blasting out early, she fits with these.

9

A Sundae on Sunday

Canadian invader faces a tough task tonight against solid company after landing on the far outside.  I’ll wait for a better spot.

Race 9                     Selections                                2-5-3-7                    50 Cent Superfecta Wagering

1

Evolution of Dance

($2k Lex yearling) IL invader lands in a fairly soft spot for her local debut, but she hasn’t really flashed any type of major league speed just yet.  Would still have to pick things up quite a bit.

2

Sheer Joy Hanover

($65k HB yearling) Took a ton of tote action here in her career debut, only to finish a fairly even 4th in what was a big mile.  This spot should be much more to her liking, I’m willing to give her a try.  JC opted here over #3.

3

Paris Metro

($75k HB yearling) Decent here 2 starts back in finishing 2nd, and lands in what should be a much more manageable spot here.  No question her best effort puts her in the mix.  Campbell opted to #2 instead.

4

Baby Shaq

($100k Lex yearling) Packs plenty of early speed, but stamina still appears to be the major concern at this point.  Would have to find a lot more pop on the end of it.

5

Danica

Solid local debut in her first start for new barn as well, and lands in a perfect mid-pack post here with plenty of options.  Appears to have hooked a fairly soft crew, looks like the one to beat.

6

Samba Gal

($70k Lex yearling) Made breaks in each of her last 3 starts, I’ll wait until we see some improvement.

7

Alwaysin blackpedia

($10k HB yearling) Endured a brutal parked out trip last time only to tire a bit late as expected, but has picked things up a bit since adding hobbles 2 starts back.  Maybe a shot at the minor awards against these.

8

Credit to Elgin

($35k Lex yearling) Appears overmatched against these at this point.  Pass.

9

Oh Oh Its Glide

($30k HB yearling) Put in a couple of decent AM works locally, but might be asking a bit much for her to go with this crew here in her first local try after landing on the far outside.  I’ll watch one first.

Race 10                   Selections                                9-7-5-6-4                 10 Cent Super Hi Five Wagering

1

Fastlane Anover

($35k HB yearling) Trotted evenly in Kindergarten action last week, but stepping up to take on a MUCH better crew tonight.  Not sure she is ready for these.

2

Ravine

($32k Lex yearling) Another that trotted evenly to be 2nd behind tough foe here last week, but facing an even better crew here in what is likely the toughest stakes div.

3

Outsourced Hanover

($27k Lex yearling) Has been competitive against mid-level stakes company this season, but taking a step up to the major leagues tonight to take on some of the best fillies in the country.  Might be asking a bit much.

4

Tweet Me

($60k HB yearling) Never worse than 2nd over the last 6 starts, but facing a much better crew here than she has faced in those efforts.  Maybe a shot for the minor awards.  B. Miller opted to #3 instead.

5

Designed to Be

Absolutely dominated a tough group in the $260k PASS Final at Philly last time, and has yet to be worse than 2nd in 6 LT starts.  Continues to improve with each LT start, lots to like.

6

Game On Hanover

($50k HB yearling) Picked up a nice 3rd place check against some of the top fillies in NA last time in the $362k Peaceful Way stake.  Has a big late kick, might end up with a perfect trip following #5.  Maybe.

7

Cooler Schooner

The fastest 2yo trotting filly of all time couldn’t carry her speed to the finish last time in $260k Final at Philly, but has obviously proven she has big league talent.  Might like the racing surface here, which is similar to PcD

8

Highest Peak

($40k Lex yearling) Easy winner against overnight company last time at Philly, but asking a lot for her to hang with this crew right now.  Pass.  Pierce opted to #9 instead.

9

Shake It Cerry

Lost all chance at making the Peaceful Way Final after making a break at Mohawk, but had been sensational prior in banking over $219k in her brief career.  Needs a big rebound, likely a short price looming.
